Elternguide.online is a website that supports parents in their media education efforts and helps them guide their children’s use of apps, games, websites and social networks. Parents can find over 500 articles, regular virtual parents' evenings, audios, videos information in easy-to-read language and much more. There are also regular virtual parents’ meetings that allow parents to ask questions, share experiences and advice and discuss online safety, media literacy and anything related to the online world.

Games in Schools

Games in Schools began as a research project that explored how commercial video games are and can be used in schools. The initial research project comprises a literature review, interviews with decision makers and stakeholders, case studies and a survey of 600 teachers. After its publication in 2009, a dedicated Handbook for Teachers was developed along with an online course. The project has since developed into an annual training programme in the form of 6-week long Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs).

Learn My Way

Learn My Way is a free online platform that helps people gain basic digital skills and improve their digital literacy to make the most of our online world. It provides over 100 bite-sized topics that are suitable for beginners that have no or low digital skills, allowing everyone to benefit from using digital devices and accessing essential online services. People can visit registered Hubs in their local communities and get support to sign up for and use Learn My Way.

News Decoder

News Decoder is a global educational news service founded in 2015 by Nelson Graves, with a mission to cultivate internationally recognized global citizenship competencies in young people. They achieve this by teaching journalism, media literacy, and global citizenship skills to students in 22 schools across 18 countries on five continents. Their educational services include mentoring by professional journalists, training workshops, webinars on global issues, e-learning courses, and handbooks on reporting and writing.

Simplon.co is an international network of socially inclusive tech boot camps. The organisation firmly believes that digital transformation is a powerful vehicle for social innovation and that it can enable those who struggle to access training and/or the job market to become the talent of tomorrow by finding a job or becoming an entrepreneur. They offer free, intensive courses in digital skills that are currently in high demand such as web development, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, looking to include those jobseekers who are underrepresented in the digital world.

TILT

Tilt was founded in 2021 with the objective to counter online disinformation and manipulation through games and AI-powered services and thereby increase digital and media literacy for everyone. All of Tilt’s solutions are based on the latest science and have been proven to be effective. What is more, the organisation actively contributes to scientific research, collaborating with universities, NGOs and governments to increase the impact of their solutions.

webwise

Webwise is the Irish Internet Safety Awareness Centre which promotes the autonomous, effective, and safer use of the internet by young people through a sustained information and awareness strategy. As part of the PDST Technology in Education, it promotes and supports the integration of Digital Technology in teaching and learning in first and second level schools. The PDST Technology in Education is a section of the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST), a support service of the Department of Education’s Teacher Education Section.

Media Diversity Institute

Media Diversity Institute (MDI) is a non-profit set up to counter hate speech, combat misinformation, and promote media literacy. Together with its sister organisations Media Diversity Institute Global, based in Brussels, and Media Diversity Institute Western Balkans, based in Belgrade, the Institute seeks to improve reporting on a slew of topics usually related to ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, and other diversity issues. MDI has been operating for the last 25 years. 

Foundation EOS Romania

A private, non-profit organisation, Foundation EOS Romania aims to bridge the digital divide in Romania by helping people realise their full potential through the use of technology. Founded in 1999, the foundation enables people to benefit from the digital transformation by helping them understand how digital competences can enhance their personal and professional development.

Biblio

Public libraries play an important role in local communities, serving as community hubs and spaces for learning and connecting. However, the digital transformation poses a challenge for the library sector. Biblio is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme with the objective of boosting digital skills and competences for librarians in Europe.
